Advisory Email – January 2022

In the view of transparency, below is an excerpt from an advisory email I sent this month:

Committing 2022 to #givefirst and add more value to my community.

STARTUP WORKSHOPS 📖
Vancouver’s startup community is stagnant and COVID has decimated the few remaining quality in-person events.

Yet, more people have left their careers to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams amidst the pandemic. No one should navigate that complicated journey alone. I need your help with revitalizing our vibrant and supportive entrepreneur community.

WIth no end to the pandemic in sight, let’s rethink the way we foster virtual communities. Join me in this 2D metaverse for an upcoming series of workshops:

Upcoming Workshops:

Tentative future sessions include:

  • How to find a mentor or advisor
  • Fundraising from investors vs. Bootstrapping
  • Vancouver’s Incubator/Accelerator/Venture Studio Showcase

Or fill out this form to suggest a topic/speaker(s)/have me link to one of your events.

RANDOM PERSONAL TIDBITS 💁
Happy to have a friendly chat and share my top-of-mind experience/lessons on the following if you are going through it:

  • Wisdom tooth extraction (all 4) and recovery was a lot less painful than expected.
  • Closed a mortgage for a new apartment that’s completing this/next month.
    • More complicated as a self-employed individual with <2 years of business operation.
    • Leveraging the RRSP Home Buyers Plan to minimize taxes for your first time home purchase (thanks Alexei Schwartzman for the advice – if you need your taxes done, I also highly recommend him).
    • Shoutout to Paul from MortgagePal for mortgage advice and education (I can connect you with him if you need a professional mortgage broker to negotiate the best rates).
